Purohit’s judicial custody extended in arms case

The judicial custody of Lt colonel Prasad Purohit, an accused in September 29 Malegaon blasts, was today extended till March 18 by a local court in Nashik in a case of procuring arms license allegedly on fake documents.

The judicial custody of Lt colonel Prasad Purohit, an accused in September 29 Malegaon blasts, was on Thursday extended till March 18 by a local court here in a case of procuring arms license allegedly on fake documents.

Purohit was produced before judge V V Joshi in Nashik as his judicial remand ended on Thursday, his counsel Avinash Bhide told PTI.

The case was filed by Pune resident Shirish Datey on November 16 alleging that the license for his gun was obtained by Purohit from the army quota using fake documents.
