Rahul sent to 14-day judicial custody

The son of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan is facing drug abuse charges.

Rahul Mahajan, arrested on charges of drug abuses, was sent to judicial custody till June 22 by a Delhi court on Thursday.

Metropolitan Magistrate AK Chaturvedi sent Rahul to 14-day judicial custody after he was produced in court following the completion of two-day police remand.

Rahul will be shifted to Tihar jail as per the orders.

The judge also directed the police to have a medical check up done of Rahul, who nearly collapsed when he was presented in court.

The court will take up for hearing a bail application filed by Rahul's lawyers on Friday.

He was arrested on Monday on charges of consuming, procuring drugs and allowing his premises to be used for consumption of narcotics.

Rahul will be lodged in jail commensurate with his health condition.
