The services were affected due to rail blockades at Titagarh and Sodepur stations, railway sources said.

The first blockade began near Titagarh station as workers of Kinison and Khardah Jute Mills sat on tracks from 7.49 am.

The workers were protesting against non-payment of their wages for months.

The blockade, which caused inconvenience for thousands of daily commuters, was withdrawn at 10.15 am after the police and railway authorities intervened, sources said.

However, the situation aggravated as a group of daily passengers put up a counter-blockade near Sodepur station from 10.15 am.
