Rajasthan: Churu shivers at 5.5 degrees

Cold conditions on Tuesday further gripped the north west part of Rajasthan with Churu recording a minimum temperature of 5.5 degrees Celsius last night, about 5 degrees less than the normal for this part of the season.

Cold conditions on Tuesday further gripped the north west part of Rajasthan with Churu recording a minimum temperature of 5.5 degrees Celsius last night, about 5 degrees less than the normal for this part of the season.

Mercury fluctuated by one to three degree Celsius as the minimum temperature remained below 10 degrees Celsius at many places in north-west part of Rajasthan, a MeT report said.

Mount Abu, the hill station in the state, recorded a minimum temperature of 6 degrees Celsius. Alwar, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Pilani, and Pali recorded a minimum temperature between 8.5 and 8.7 degrees.

Jaipur's night temperature dipped slightly from 10.6 to 10.5 degrees. In rest of the state, the night temperature ranged between 10 and 13 degrees Celsius including Ajmer, Barmer, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Sikar, Udaipur, Jhalawar, Kota, and Jodhpur districts.

Though Banswara district yet to received winter season as its night temperature was at 19.8 degree Celsius. Mercury fluctuation would continue in the state in the next 24 hours with northerly cold winds, a MeT forecast said.
