Agra beat Air Force Delhi by four wickets in the Manish Agnihotri all-India cricket tournament being played at the Old Campion grounds in the City on Friday.

Agra will clash with Bilaspur in the first semifinal on Saturday. Batting first, Air Force team made 174 runs in 40 overs at the loss of eight wickets after a slow start. An important innings by skipper PMS Reddy, who scored an invaluable 82 runs, made the recovery possible. He scored runs on every opportunity.
Earlier, the opening pair of Ranji player Devendra Israni and former under 19 India team player Soumik Chhatterji lost their wickets without adding much to the scoreboard.
At the time when team was struggling on 100 runs for the loss of five wickets, skipper Reddy played responsible knock. His 82 run innings and good support of 31 by Satish enabled the team to set 175 runs respectable target.
For the bowling side, Ranji player Lalit Verma took three wickets. Amit Tiwari and Dinesh Pawar claimed two wickets each. In reply, Dinesh Pawar began on fiery note and scored quickfire 31 that included six boundaries. But his dismissal brought the Air Force team back in the match as the Agra team lost five wickets for 92 runs. But the low score on the board made things difficult for the bowling side.
Thanks to the good batting by Rajesh Gupta and Lalit Verma, the Agra team managed to register four-wicket win. Senior IPS officer Yahsovardhan Azad presented the man of the match award to Rajesh Gupta.
Azad lauded the efforts of the tournament organsing committee for providing a platform to the players to demonstrate their talent. On the occasion, BDCA vice-president Aruneshwar Singhdeo, JP Tyagi, Rajesh Agnihotri, director National Hospital JC Sharma and others were present.
