Rajnath non-committal on 'Shotgun' contesting from Patna Saheb

BJP Prez Rajnath Singh was non-committal on giving party ticket to Shatrughan Sinha to contest from Patna Saheb constituency, from where the actor-politician has insisted on entering the fray in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

BJP President Rajnath Singh was on Tuesday non-committal on giving party ticket to Shatrughan Sinha to contest from Patna Saheb constituency, from where the actor-politician has insisted on entering the fray in the coming Lok Sabha elections.

He, however, denied that Shatrughan Sinha had threatened to resign if he was not given ticket to contest from Patna.

"No, no, only a few days ago, we had a talk. He has not said anything of that sort," Singh said, when a reporter said Sinha had made a statement of quitting in case he was not given the ticket.

Asked if he would be given ticket, Singh said, "definitely".

But queried specifically if he would be fielded from Patna Saheb, the BJP President said, "such (high profile) candidates... We also look at their choice."
