Raju Srivastava may contest LS polls
Comedian Raju Srivastva today said that he is considering an offer from Congress party to contest the coming Lok Sabha polls. "Congress and Samajwadi Party have offered me to contest the LS elections on their ticket. But as Cong' offer came first, I am considering it," Srivastava said.
Comedian Raju Srivastva on Sunday said that he is considering an offer from Congress party to contest the coming Lok Sabha polls.
"Congress and Samajwadi Party have offered me to contest the Lok Sabha elections on their ticket. But as Congress' offer came first, I am considering it," Srivastava, who hails from Kanpur, told PTI-Bhasha.
However, he said he is yet to decide on the matter but if he decides to contest the polls then the "likely choice will be Allahabad".
Srivastava said that Maharashtra Congress chief Kripashankar recently told him that his likely wish to contest from Allahabad will be conveyed to party president Sonia Gandhi and after a green signal he will join the grand-old party.
Meanwhile, the family, friends and supporters of Srivastava in the district expressed their happiness over his possible decision to contest the polls.
