Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant stoked controversy yet again on Thursday with a powerful nurses' body describing her skimpy dress in a song and dance video as a "great insult" to their profession and demanding that the Government immediately withdraw it from TV channels.

"We are shocked to see the scene in some of the channels, showing Rakhi Sawant and few other girls dancing as nurses in very short white frocks and cap. This is a great insult to nursing profession as a whole. Nurses are not item girls," the All India Government Nurses Federation said.

The Federation has shot off letters to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi and Censor Board Chairperson Sharmila Tagore seeking directions to the concerned authorities to immediately withdraw the song and dance video.

Nursing was a noble profession engaged in the service of the suffering humanity and should not be defamed by producers and actors, the letter stated.
