Dissmissing reports that the party's Haryana unit has merged with Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party, BSP on Thursday said it would contest all the 23 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and Haryana in the coming polls.

"We have not received any formal letter from Sherwal (Haryana BSP chief Ashok Sherwal) that he has resigned from the party," BSP national general secretary Narender Kashyap told reporters while reacting to Sherwal's decision to quit the party and join the LJP in New Delhi.
Kashyap announced Haryana BSP convenor Ramji Lal as the new president of the state unit of the party.
