"The Chevrolet Aveo is a new generation car with class leading performance, amazing looks and style and great mileage. Hence, we were looking at ambassadors who not only connect emotionally with the audience today but also embody the two dimensions of performance and aesthetics, substance and style plus class and exuberance," General Motors India President and Managing Director Rajeev Chaba said.

He said the company expected that the two actors would dramatise the superiority of Aveo over the competition and bring alive the positioning of Aveo as "the embodiment of great performance and immaculate aesthetics".

The Aveo, which is expected to take on the Ford Fiesta and Honda City, is primarily aimed at up-graders from the two box as well as additional three box car owners.

The car built at GM's facility in Halol, Gujarat, is powered by 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre 16-valve DOHC petrol engines with standard five-speed manual transmission.
