"The reasons given by PCB for not playing in Ahmedabad, are not convincing," Patel told PTI by phone.
Patel said he would request the External Affairs Ministry to take up the matter with Pakistan's Foreign Ministry to reconsider the decision.
"It will be in the interest of the game to play in Ahmedabad as no untoward incident was noticed during the one-dayers against England and West Indies held there (in the past)," he said.
He said about 250 delegates from Pakistan took part in the Lions International Conference recently held in Ahmedabad.
Patel also said the state government was committed to provide full security.
