A HUGE rally of ex-servicemen was organised at the Honorary Captain Shankar Lakshman stadium on Sunday morning to address their problems and provide them latest information of policies and regulations.
A large number of ex-servicemen and veer naris (wives of those who died in wars) took part in the rally giving the stadium a festive look.
Infantry School, Mhow officiating Commandant Maj Gen Anand Mohan Verma, Mhow Station Commander Brig P K Kaushik and Mhow Station Administrative Commandant Col Sudhendra Singh met ex-servicemen and the veer naris to listen to their problems and offer solutions.
They also feted the veer naris and gave them financial assistance. The women who were feted were Achala Gaur wife of Late Lt Col H U S Gaur (who was posthumously awarded Ashok Chakra for laying down his life in 1994 during operation Rakshak), Jamuna Bai wife of late Sepoy Gajanand, Hemlata wife of late Sepoy Ramesh Chander and Anita Sharma wife of Late Paratrooper Pawan Kumar.
Military Hospital Commanding Officer Col D S Wasunkar, Army Recruiting Officer Col V K Saini, representative of CDA (Pension) Allahabad, District Sainik Welfare Officer Lt Col Khetrapal, director of ECHS and representatives of non-Government organisations set up their stalls to give first hand information about their working and to address to the queries of the ex-servicemen.
They also told them about the facilities and new schemes of their respective departments for the ex-servicemen.
