Refresher course for teachers at MONIRBA

A 21-DAY refresher course on ?Globalisation and Indian Business: Problems and prospects? organised by Allahabad University?s Commerce Faculty in collaboration with the UGC-Academic Staff College began at the Motilal Nehru Institute of Research and Business Administration (MONIRBA) on January 16.

A 21-DAY refresher course on ‘Globalisation and Indian Business: Problems and prospects’ organised by Allahabad University’s Commerce Faculty in collaboration with the UGC-Academic Staff College began at the Motilal Nehru Institute of Research and Business Administration (MONIRBA) on January 16.

The refresher course was inaugurated by former Allahabad University vice-chancellor Prof Jagdish Prakash.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Prof Prakash said that refresher courses provide the much-needed opportunity to the teachers to enhance their knowledge base and become better in their fields by interacting with resource persons and scholars specialising in various subjects.

Course coordinator Dr MZ Khursheed said that over 100 teachers from all over the country, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Orissa, New Delhi, Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Assam and Madhya Pradesh were taking part in the three weeklong refresher course.

Regarding the refresher course, he said that it was a kind of an academic training which aimed to improve the skills of young teachers to help them become better professionals.

Among the resource persons who will guide the teachers during the course are Prof F Amar from Jamia Milia University, Prof Nageshwar Rao from Ujjain, Prof RC Sharma from Varanasi, Prof Om Prakash from Jaipur, Prof DPS Verma from Delhi, Prof BN Shukla from Patna, Prof Mushtaq Ahmed from Aligarh Muslim University and Prof KM Pandey from Varanasi.
