Repolling in 30 booths, including Central Madras and South Madras, spread across 13 of the 39 Lok Sabha constituencies in Tamil Nadu, began at 7 am on Wednesday amidst heavy police bandobust, officials source said.
Off the 30 booths, repolling in 19 booths in 12 constituencies are being held due to malfunctioning of the Electronic Voting machines. In 11 booths, under Karur constituency, repoll was ordered as the Presiding officers permitted persons, whose names had been deleted from the electoral rolls, to vote on May 10.
Elections held in these 30 booths on May 10 were declared void by the Election Commission.
