Republic Day was celebrated in various City schools recently. Army School: Republic Day was celebrated at Army School with a spirit of devotion towards the motherland.

The chief guest Colonel Anil RK Verma hoisted the National Flag. The school choir presented patriotic songs. The school principal Dr Rajesh Sharma in his address wished the students a bright future and expressed the importance of being a true Indian and added that we all should be proud to be Indians.

Maharishi Vidya Mandir: Maharishi Vidya Mandir Ratanpur celebrated the 57th Republic Day with great zeal. The programme began with the flag hosting by chief guest Brig. G.S. Sandhu followed by the National Anthem. He emphasized that on this day we must remember the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters and draw inspiration from their lives.

He said that we are fortunate to be born in free India and the children must work hard so that they could become good citizens when they grow up.

The splendid performance by tiny tots was appreciated by one and all. The programme began with presentation of Saraswati Vandana by little girls followed by a skit that aimed at generating a feeling of unity and the spirit of brotherhood. A marvelous rendition of various patriotic songs like 'Ye tara who tara', 'Yeh desh yeh veer jawano ka' etc aroused feelings of nationalism.

Brig. GS Sandhu gave away prizes. Finally the school principal delivered his message to children and said that the mantra to be successful is to understand the basic ideals of life and follow them throughout our life.

People's Public School:
Gaiety and fervour marked the Republic Day celebrations at the People's Public School. Principal KK Mukherjee hoisted the flag followed by the march past of the four houses of the school, Mercury, Mars, Venus and Jupiter, which symbolised the mark of discipline among the students. The young bubbling orators of the school delivered speeches wherein they explained the significance of the Republic Day.

On this occasion the Principal said, 'Education is the process of nurturing the raw minds. By becoming responsible and educated citizens the children can help India to become one of the most powerful nations in the coming years'.

All the Executive Directors, Principals, H.O.Ds, staff members and students of different institution of People's Group assembled in front of the secondary wing of the school. They welcomed Ram Vilas Vijaywargiya, the Managing Director and I.H.Siddiqui the Project Director of the People's Group escorted by Amitabh Shivapori, the Executive Director of the People's Public School.
