According Haryana Power Utilities Ltd, it supplied an all-time high of 1458.54 lakh units of power to its consumers on Friday.

The transmission and distribution system in the state took record 6,725 MW against previous record of 6,702 MW on Friday, said an official.

A spokesman of the Haryana Power Utilities Limited said the power supply had improved due to increased availability in the state and improved power frequency in the northern electricity grid. However, the residents were not happy with the power department's claim.

Harish Malhotra, a resident of Sector 17, said, "Ab to bijli bhi medicine ki tarah ho gai hai. 1 ghanta subeh naashte se pahle, 2 ghante dopahar khane ke baad aur 3 ghante raat sone se pahle (The electricity supply has become like medical prescription: To be given one hour before breakfast, two hours after lunch and three hours before bed-time).
