On Monday afternoon, residents gave vent to their ire by staging a demonstration and accused all political parties for the civic mess at Shyam Nagar. Angry residents also decided to boycott the local bodies elections scheduled to be held on October 31.

A local resident Ramji Mishra stated that even after repeated complaints former corporator remained indifferent to the problems. “We approached other political parties for help but to no avail. As a last resort we have decided to boycott the polling,” added Mishra. Irate residents pointed out that they were not against any individual or any particular party. But their anger was targeted against all political parties.

Even a downpour for half-an-hour creates havoc in Shyam Nagar and leads to choked sewer lines.
