Sixty one-year-old Madanamohan, a retired lower-primary school teacher, was nabbed this morning on the charges of trying to outrage the modesty of the fifth standard student, the sources said.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening when the girl was returning home alone from a flour mill, they said.

According to the complaint lodged by the girl's uncle, the accused caught hold of the girl and began "misbehaving" with her. However, soon after she raised an alarm, he ran away from the scene, police said.

The accused, who was held in a similar case while in service in 1999, but was later acquitted by the Court, would be produced before a local Court later in the day, police added.
