Rice will make great President: Laura Bush

The names of Rice and Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton repeatedly surface in discussions about the 2008 presidential race.

US First Lady Laura Bush said Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice would make a "wonderful" President - but indicated Rice was a reluctant candidate.

Her comments were made in an interview to Cable News Network on Friday with talk show host Larry King.

"She would be a great President ... but we can't talk her into it," Bush said. "She would make a wonderful President."

The names of Rice, a Republican, and Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton repeatedly surface in discussions about the 2008 presidential race.

But Rice, a committed fan of American football, has made clear she would much rather become commissioner of the National Football League.
