Bind was here to participate in the zonal party workers’ conference at Irrigation guesthouse.
Talking to mediapersons, Bind said the Bharatiya Janata Party was losing its ground and the Congress was struggling hard to revive its party organisation in the state.
But, the RLD had strengthened its position across the state, he added. Bind expressed satisfaction at the party’s performance in recently concluded Zila Panchayat chairman election.
He also said in six districts the RLD candidates registered their win and in other districts, the party made its presence felt after 12 years.
Responding to a question, Bind said workers’ meeting would be at every district to strengthen the party. He said the district presidents of the party in eastern Uttar Pradesh were directed to identify one strong assembly segment in their respective districts.
He further said that party’s national president Chaudhary Ajit Singh, national president of the youth wing Jayant Chaudhary, senior party leaders and minister would visit the identified assembly segments.
Bind said the party had decided to start the second phase of Kisan Jagran Yatra from February 11 in eight districts of central UP.
Former Prime Minister VP Singh and Ajit Singh would address a public meeting at Shravasti on that day to flag off the yatra to be led by party’s national youth president Jayant Chaudhary, he added
