Several trains remain stranded at the Kanpur Central Railway station and the Tundla passenger was cancelled. Late in the evening, an emergency assistance counter was opened at the Kanpur Central Railway station.

The Swarn Shatabdi Express remained stranded for two hours. As all the platforms remained occupied, there was utter chaos at the railway station.

Several other trains including Moori Express, North- East Express (2505), Jodhpur- Howrah Express, Saptakranti Express (2819) and the Lokmanya Tilak Express (2107) were stopped at various stations.

The worst affected were passengers, who had a tough time getting information about the arrival and departure timings of the trains.
