Road Safety Week begins

DIVISIONAL COMMISSIONER, RK Mittal launched the Road Safety Week by flagging off over half a dozen auto-rickshaws to various city localities here on Monday. The auto-rickshaws fitted with audios would do rounds of the city playing on road safety messages and distributing literature to create an awareness among the people.

The Road Safety Week, according to RTO, Gangaphal will conclude on January 8 and will witness various programmes every day. The transport department will hold a eye testing camp for the drivers of the commercial vehicles at RTO Office, Kanpur Road on January 3, and a pollution checking camp in various parts of the city on January 4. This will followed by a refresher course to be organized for commercial vehicles drivers by the Bajaj Auto at Ravindralaya on January 5.

On January 6, an essay and drawing competition on traffic management will be organized on January 6. Students upto 12th standard could participate in the competition. The Road Safety Week is observed in the State every year on the directions of the Union Ministry of Surface Transport.
