Top seed Tommy Robredo fought back from a set down to oust strongly built left-handed German rival Michael Berrer 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 and entered the singles quarterfinals of the USD 380,000 Kingfisher Airlines Open at the Cricket Club of India courts.

World no. 7 Robredo's hard-fought victory over his German rival who's ranked 145th in the world earned the Spaniard, winner of two ATP titles this year, a clash for the last four berth against Paraguayan Ramon Delgado.

Robredo joined second seed Mario Ancic (Croatia), third seed Tomas Berdych (Czech Republic), fourth seed Dmitry Tursunov (Russia), sixth Bjorn Phau (Germany), qualifier James Auckland (Britain), Stefan Koubek of Austria and Delgado in the last eight of the singles line-up.
