What started out as Kashmir Club is Rouge today. The colour code is black and red, the walls are embellished with funky paintings inspired by Moulin Rouge, and there are plenty of cosy corners lit up just enough with candles. Add to all this a jazz band with the famous Jenny (formerly of the Jazz Bar) belting out Ella Fitzgerald numbers and you have a romantic venue for a date. The band plays on all days except Monday and Tuesday, from 9 p.m. to 30 minutes past midnight. You can book Rouge for parties in the evening or an afternoon soiree. The food is average - the usual pastas, lasagne and cheesy garlic bread - but check out the dessert called the Chocolate Pizza. You can also try the Lamb Chops, Smoked Salmon or the Stuffed Breast of Chicken.
