Rourke hails Megan Fox as the best young actress

Veteran star Mickey Rourke has hailed siren Megan Fox as Hollywood's "best young actress" after she impressed him with her acting on the sets of their

latest film.

The 57-year-old actor stars opposite Fox in

Passion Play

and was left in awe by her talent and professionalism insisting she is one of the most promising movie stars in showbiz,

reported.

"(She) is the best young actress I've ever worked with. I don't know if a lot of her films have showcased her acting ability more than, say, being action-oriented, but she really stepped up (to) the plate with this one and was very consistent and professional, beyond her years. At 23, I couldn't do half of what she's doing," Rourke said.

The movie sees Fox portraying a circus freak with wings who is under the control of a gangster and is eventually rescued by the character played by Rourke.
