The administrator and District Magistrate Amrit Abhijat approved an annual budget of Rs 116 crore for the financial year beginning from Saturday that had surplus allocation of Rs 35,85,94,117 in comparison of last year's budget. A provision of Rs 2,69,2900 profit has been made in the budget.
A total of Rs 62.50 crore would be spent on the development including Rs 21.86 crore for widening and beautification of the roads, Rs 6.12 crore for streetlights, Rs 15.47 crore on sanitary condition, Rs 6 crore for setting up community centre, shops, modernisation of House, Rs 5 crore for setting up three new zonal offices, Rs 2 crore for sanitation on contractual basis, Rs 80 lakh for nullah cleaning , Rs 50 lakh for cattle colony, Rs 15 lakh for tree plantation, Rs 10 crore for JNURM Project and Rs 8 crore for Ardha Kumbh project.
The administrator said that on the special request sent to the State Government for NN employees' pension and salary, the government had approved Rs 6.88 crore as a grant for the Nagar Nigam.
This would help in one time payment of salary and pension to employees. The employees would also get salary of October 2004 strike period.
He said that Nigam would get Rs 35 crore from the State Finance Commission, Rs 14 crore from 12th Finance Commission, Rs 30 lakh from MP quota, Rs 8 crore for Ardha Kumbh fair from Nagar Vikas Department, Rs 10 crore from JNURM , Rs 9 crore from several taxes, Rs 4 crore from Revolving Fund and Rs 50 lakh from the government for flood relief works.
