A police team reached the spot and arrested Salim while he was trying to sell off the contraband to Parvez Khan (25), another habitual offender. Police also seized 190 gram brown sugar from Salim’s possession. Both were brought to the police station for interrogation.

Salim told the police that he had purchased the contraband from Younis Lala, a seasoned drug supplier who has been involved in the trade for many years. He added that the drug had been supplied to him by Taj Khan (25) of Putlighar area on a commission of Rs 5,000.

On Salim’s instance, police managed to arrest Taj Khan too. Salim, Parvez and Taj have been booked under the NDPS Act. The main drug dealer Younis Lala, however, is still at large and a search has been launched to nab him.
