Rs 35 crore spent on dev projects in Leh

About Rs 34.98 crore have been spent on development projects in Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Executive Councilor of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Chering Dorje on Tuesday said in Srinagar.

Out of Rs 60 crore plan outlay of Leh district for the year 2008-09, an amount of Rs 34.98 crore have been spent till December 2008, registering an expenditure of 58.31 per cent against last year's expenditure of only 42 per cent, Dorje said addressing a three-day General Council meeting of LAHDC convened to review the progress and performance under district plan.

He said that 55.80 per cent expenditure also recorded against an outlay of Rs 10 crore under NABARD for 2008-09 in the district.

An amount of Rs 75.87 lakh have been spent on agriculture sector, Rs 1150.87 lakh on roads and buildings, Rs 165.14 lakh on community development and Rs 121 crore on flood control, Dorje said.
