Rs 742 cr distributed to Kharif farmers in Chhattisgarh
According to official sources, more than four lakh Kharif farmers have been provided loans through 333 agriculture co-operative societies at an interest rate of three percent.

Officials said that the short-term loan target set for the current season stands at Rs 1,200 crores against which more than Rs 741 crore has been distributed to 4,27,115 farmers in the tribal state. Apex bank officials on Friday said that 60 per cent of the loans are given in cash form and rest is provided in the form of seeds and fertilisers on Kissan credit cards. In Raipur, Rs 174 crores was distributed to 1,19,046 farmers while in Mahasamund region, Rs 66.73 crore was provided to 30,517 farmers; in Durg (Rs 167 crore to 34,847 peasants) in Dhamtari (Rs 45 crore to 28,000 farmers); in Rajnandgaon (Rs 54.95 crore to 70,453 farmers) and in Kawardha (Rs 30.3 crore to 22,330 farmers.
