Briefing newsmen on Thursday, Ram Madhav, former RSS spokesman, said the nation was concerned about growing terrorism and Maoist activities across the country under the present Congress-led UPA government at the Centre.

“RSS would clear its stand after the three days deliberations”, he said, adding that sympathisers of terrorism had become more active directly or indirectly. He was possibly hinting at the sympathy generated from some quarters over the hanging of Parliament attack accused Mohd Afzal Guru.

Madhv said since sentiments of crores of people were attached with the construction of grand Ram temple at Ayodhya, RSS was also formulating a strategy with sadhus on the issue.

Terrorism, he said, was a great challenge and RSS was deeply concerned over the issue. The present UPA government’s soft stance towards terrorism was also a matter of concern for the people and the RSS cadre, he added.

It may be mentioned that the top RSS brasses, including Sarsanghchalak KC Sudarshan, are camping in Varanasi for the last three days.

They remained busy for the third consecutive day in discussing issues to be taken up at its three-day national executive meet.

Though about 350 members from across the country are expected to participate in the meeting here, top RSS leaders including KC Sudershan, Mohan Rao Bhagwat, Madan Das Devi, Suresh Joshi, Suresh Soni, Suresh Rao Ketkar, Laximan Rao, KC Kannan, Indresh Kumar etc are among the number of senior Sangh leades who have already arrived in the city.

Top Vishwa Hindu Parishad leaders including Ashok Singhal and Dr Pravin Togadia had also arrived in the town.
