RTI discussed at Railway seminar

A SEMINAR on ?Right to Information? (RTI) was organised at the DRM office of the West Central Railways here on Monday. Addressing the seminar, the advisor to the Central Information Commissioner and senior advocate, Supreme Court of India, Pavitra Roy Choudhary emphasised on providing information on time.

A SEMINAR on ‘Right to Information’ (RTI) was organised at the DRM office of the West Central Railways here on Monday. Addressing the seminar, the advisor to the Central Information Commissioner and senior advocate, Supreme Court of India, Pavitra Roy Choudhary emphasised on providing information on time.

Besides providing requisite information to the applicant, the public information officer should also maintain cordial behaviour, he said further.

In his welcome address, Divisional Railway Manager Ashok Kumar Agarwal detailed the RTI Act and working at the division under it. Senior Deputy General Manager, WCR, SC Sethi said that apart from Jabalpur and Bhopal, the lecture by Roy Choudhary would also be organised at Kota.

WCR Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger Service) GD Sharma gave details of the origination of RTI. A large number of senior officials from various sections of WCR attended the seminar.
