Sacchakhera gangrape case, life term for two

A Jind district court today awarded life term to the accused who raped a minor last year. A 15-year-old dalit girl who was gangraped by two youths at Sacchakhera village of Jind district had set herself ablaze in October last year.

A Jind district court on Friday awarded life term to the accused who raped a minor last year.

A 15-year-old dalit girl who was gangraped by two youths at Sacchakhera village of Jind district had set herself ablaze in October last year.

In her statement to the magistrate, the girl had said when she crossed her neighbour Pardeep's house, she was dragged inside and raped by him and his accomplice Navin, while another boy Sanjeev bolted the room from inside so that she couldn't escape.

Following her death, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi had also visited the residence of the gangrape victim and had ensured speedy justice.
