Saji had plans to make inroads into Bollywood drug circuit through his Mumbai contact, Oshiwara-based fisheries exporter Vicky Oberoi, said Param Bir Singh Deputy Inspector General (ATS).

“Vicky had flaunted his connections in the film industry which impressed Saji. Later, Saji told him his plans to sell drugs to film personalities to which Vicky agreed,” Singh said. “But, Vicky was bluffing.”

Singh said Saji had met Vicky through Rakesh Khatariya. Khatariya knew Sukhbir Hooda who claimed to be related to Haryana chief minister. Hooda, a notorious cheat, had been arrested twice for using a beacon in his vehicle. He had lived in Mumbai and met Vicky Oberoi here. Later, Vicky was introduced to Saji.

The ATS claimed to have tracked down two people in Mumbai who had been contacted by Vicky for selling the contraband. Singh refused to disclose their names. Saji’s former bodyguards, constables Navin Kumar and Ravindra Pal, were flown into Mumbai for questioning on Friday.
