A TADA court on Saturday allowed jailed gangster Abu Salem to withdraw his petition seeking a ban on release of Mahesh Bhatt's film Gangster on the ground that the movie was based on his life and might jeopardise the 1993 bomb blast trial in which he is facing charges of conspiracy to create serial explosions.

Outside the court, Salem's lawyer Ashok Sarogi told reporters that he would move the Bombay High Court on Saturday itself with a similar plea.
