Samsung launches tablet PC

South Korean technology major Samsung Electronics on Friday launched its tablet computer, Galaxy Tab in India. Powered by Google’s Android platform, the Galaxy Tab will be available for Rs 38,000.

“The demand for tablet PCs is expected to touch around 1 million units over the next twelve months and we expect to capture around 40% market share with Galaxy Tab,” said Ranjit Yadav, director, mobile and IT, Samsung Electronics India.

A tablet PC combines the capabilities of a laptop and smart phone and is suited for reading e-books and watching videos.
