Tatiana Golovin of France prevalied over Sania Mirza in straight sets at the Open Gaz de France to set up a quarter-final clash with Russian Nadia Petrova .

The local teen beat the Indian tennis ace 6-4, 6-2 in the second round on Thursday in Paris.

Mirza had earlier pulled off a remarkable victory in round one where she defeated sixth seed Italian Flavia Pennetta of the $600,000 WTA Open late on Tuesday.

The Hyderabadi, who also crashed out of the second round at Australian Open last month, still has a chance in the doubles event where she, along with her South African partner Liezel Huber, had already advanced to the second round.
