The actor, sentenced to six years' rigorous imprisonment under the Arms Act in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, had been granted bail by the Supreme Court on November 27.

Clad in blue jeans and a white kurta, Dutt, who was accompanied by his lawyers, went straight to Pune airport where a chartered aircraft was parked to take him to Mumbai.

Dutt, who looked in good spirits as he came out of the jail along with his friend and inmate Yusuf Nalwalla, waved at the crowd that had gathered to have a glimpse of the Munnabhai. But the actor did not interact with the media or shake hands with any of the policemen.
