When the matter came up before the court, both the seers and the 22 other accused in the case were present. Ravi Subramaniam, accused-turned-approver in the case, was also present.
Since the advocates for 11 accused and the lawyer for mutt's manager Sundaresa Iyer were not present, the Principal Sessions Judge, MG Akbar Ali, adjourned the case to June 16 with a direction that the advocates of all the accused must be present on that day.
The Public Prosecutor sought an earlier date, but the Judge declined.
Earlier, the Judge had got two chairs placed in the court hall for the two acharyas to be seated.
Vijayendra Saraswati's brother R Raghu was brought late to the court from Salem prison.
