I agree with Renuka Narayanan in Language of our heritage that Sanskrit has played a vital role in the development of all languages.

I agree with Renuka Narayanan in Language of our heritage (July 25) that Sanskrit has played a vital role in the development of all languages. But today, no one wants to adopt it and if anyone uses Sanskrit, he becomes a laughing stock. People tend to neglect it, so the status of Sanskrit is low. It is a holy language as our Vedas, Ramayana, the Gita and the Mahabharata etc. are originally in Sanskrit. Sanskrit is our heritage so we have to use it as a common language.
