A Bench comprising Justice KG Balakrishnan and Justice DK Jain declined to entertain the petition filed by Ashok Hotel Mazdoor Janata Union seeking probe for huge payments made for the wedding at the Hotel Ashoka in April.

Realising that the Bench was not inclined to entertain its petition, Union's counsel DK Garg preferred to withdraw it.

The Union had sought inquiry on the expenditure claiming that about Rs 21 lakh were paid in cash to the hotel.

Anguished by such petition, the Bench observed that the petitioners are treating the court as a police station.
