SC to decide on NS Sidhu's plea today

Sidhu is seeking stay of conviction to contest polls after he was sentenced for three years in a road rage case.

The former cricketer was convicted after he was held guilty by the Punjab and Haryana High Court last month of culpable homicide not amounting to murder for the death of one Gurnam Singh in 1988 in Patiala. He along with co-convict Rupinder Singh Sandhu was sentenced to three-year imprisonment by the HC.

On January 18, SC had reserved its verdict on the plea of cricketer-turned-BJP politician.
