SC verdict on Sanjay Dutt's plea likely today

The Supreme Court would pass its verdict on actor Sanjay Dutt's plea to stay his conviction for contesting elections from Lucknow parliamentary seat.

The Supreme Court would on Tuesday pass its verdict on actor Sanjay Dutt's plea to stay his conviction for contesting elections from Lucknow parliamentary seat.

A Bench of Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan and Justice P Sathasivam would deliver the verdict at 2 pm.

Dutt was convicted under the Arms Act and sentenced to six-year imprisonment by a TADA court.

The apex court had yesterday reserved its order after hearing the contentions of the actor and the CBI which opposed his plea.

The actor is the Samajwadi Party nominee from Lucknow seat.
