JYOTIRADITYA SCINDIA was unanimously elected president of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) at its annual general body elections held here today. National selector Sanjay Jagdale was unanimously re-elected secretary.

It was an elevation for Scindia who was until now the chairman. He takes over from Shravan Patel. The AGM also empowered the president and secretary to decide the rest of the team members.
Scindia and Jagdale are likely to announce within a week names for the post of chairman, vice-presidents, joint secretaries and treasurer apart from members of senior and junior selection committees and other committees.
The meeting decided that former MPCA secretary Dr M K Bhargava would step in as chairman and only a formality letter remains to be released.
Later, addressing media persons Scindia said last year the focus was to complete the stadium where the India England one-dayer was held successfully. He said the MPCA had earned a net profit of Rs 1.15 crore by hosting the match.
This year the focus will shift towards human resources and there would be more concentration on the district level. Each division will be given responsibility to develop their respective district cricket and organise tournaments in the age groups of under 15, 17 and 19.
He said MPCA would provide all facilities and the respective divisions would be accountable for it. MPCA would be nominating a couple of observers to report the development of projects to the managing committee. Scindia also said that he was happy to hold this post, which was held by his late father Madhavrao Scindia for a long time.
The managing committee has deputed secretary Sanjay Jagdale and Bhopal Cricket Association secretary Dr Shafquat Mohamed Khan to sort out the differences with the two groups in Jabalpur Divisional Association.
Since a long time MPCA has been receiving complaints from Jabalpur Division, as things were not smooth and both sides had been asked to table their reports to the managing committee.Jagdale said that they had shifted the inter-divisional cricket matches from summer to January-February.
Every year the matches were being played in hot summer and the second session after the rainy season. By this the players lose the link for couple of months and the State associations were finding it difficult to gauge the performance of players.
They have also decided to hold coaching camps in October, November and December before the divisional matches and respective divisions would have sufficient time to select their teams.
