Security tightened for peaceful Holi

ELABORATE SECURITY arrangements have been made by the administration in the city for peaceful Holi festival. Heavy police force, including the jawans of the Central Security Forces, have been deployed in the sensitive and overcrowded areas of the city. As many as 12 companies of Central Security Forces have started patrolling the city since Tuesday morning. A sector magistrate and a DSP, along with heavy police force, will keep patrolling sensitive areas of the city .

A sector magistrate and a deputy superintendent of police (DSP), along with heavy police force, will keep patrolling sensitive areas of the city to monitor the security arrangements.

Police officials inspected the ‘ Holikas’ in sensitive areas and ensured adequate security with deployment of CSF personnel along with jawans of the PAC on Tuesday.

It may be noted that as many 824 Holikas have been set up in the district. Special attention is being paid to the venue of the Holikas for maintaining the law and order. Anti-explosive checking through scientific equipment was also carried out by the police at some major Holikas.

SP (City) Anant Deo held discussions with the circle officers and officials of Central Security Forces, including RAF and CRPF and monitored the security arrangement.

Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner CN Dubey and District Magistrate Nitin Ramesh Gokaran, while greeting the citizens on Holi, have appealed to them to maintain fraternity and communal harmony during the festival. The DM has advised the citizens not to use chemical colours as they are injurious. Besides, all those who do not like to be coloured must not be disturbed by the revellers, he said.
