The city Sena chief Nana Wadekar has petitioned the Election Commission officials here to mark the constituency as a sensitive one and provide extra security in order to ensure free, fair and fearless polling.

The Sena candidate from Vadgaon-Sheri Ajay Bhosale escaped unhurt but his driver was injured when motor-bike borne assailants fired shots at his car on Sunday.

He later alleged that his NCP rival Bapu Pathare was behind the attack, which was denied by NCP.
