Senior journalist Ravula Murthy passes away
Senior journalist Ravula Suryanarayna Murthy, who was also a former Additional Director of Information and Public Relations Department of Andhra Pradesh Government, died due to a cardiac arrest at Rajahmundry on Saturday, family sources said.
Senior journalist Ravula Suryanarayna Murthy, who was also a former Additional Director of Information and Public Relations Department of Andhra Pradesh Government, died due to a cardiac arrest at Rajahmundry on Saturday, family sources said.
He was 75 and is survived by wife, a son and daughter.
Murthy worked in various capacities, including as Public Relations officer for Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), for 16 years, they said.
He was the editor of `Andhra Pradesh', a magazine published by the State Government. Besides, he also served as editor of `Andhra Sri' and `Prajashakthi' newspapers.
He was accorded 'doctor of letters' degree by the American University for his contribution to literary works.
U Arun Kumar, MP (Rajahmundry), R Suryaprakash MLA (Rajahumundry city) and TTD member, Assistant Director Information and PR Department M Francis, among others, mourned the death of Murthy and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.
