Seven terrorists among 10 killed in Jammu

Ten people, including seven terrorists, were killed and two injured in separate encounters in Poonch and Udhampur districts of Jammu division where security forces have also apprehended three militants since last evening, official sources said in Jammu on Tuesday.

Ten people, including seven terrorists, were killed and two injured in separate encounters in Poonch and Udhampur districts of Jammu division where security forces have also apprehended three militants since last evening, official sources said in Jammu on Tuesday.

Three militants of Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Toiba outfit were gunned down by security forces in Mahore area of Udhampur district on Tuesday.

Some arms and ammunition, including three AK rifles, were recovered from the slain militants, they said.

Three more ultras were shot dead today by security forces in an encounter at Mankote area of Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district, the sources said and adding that search operation was continuing in the area.

In another encounter between security forces and ultras at Mankote in Poonch district last night, one militant, two army personnel and a porter were killed and two injured, police said.

The slain militant was identified as Omar of LeT outfit and resident of Pindi in Pakistan, the sources said, adding that two army personnel who lost their lives have been identified as Havaldar Pramod Kumar Mishra and a rifleman Pankaj Kumar Rawat. The porter has been identified as Bagh Hussain.

Subedar Omesh Shanker was rushed to hospital for treatment, the sources said.
Reports from Doda district said that security forces apprehended three militants alongwith arms and ammunition in Kishtwar on Tuesday.
