Seven undertrials escape from Ludhiana jail

They escaped from the Central Jail in Ludhiana when they were brought back after a court appearance.

Seven undertrials escaped from the Central Jail in Ludhiana late on Friday night when they were brought back after a court appearance, prison officials said.

The undertrials were escorted back from Kapurthala at around 11 pm after a hearing in a court there.

They managed to escape by dodging the policemen on duty while getting down from the jail vehicle, the officials added.

Missing woman's body, chopped into pieces, found in Jharkhand
