Recently, a worldwide survey published in a leading newspaper stated that the average age of losing virginity in India is 19 years. Another survey conducted by a leading daily put forth that in Mumbai 88 per cent girls as compared to 84 per cent boys believe in pre-marital sex. Moreover, they would prefer an experienced partner. The survey became pitiful on Delhi guys where this figure was 62 per cent followed by Lucknowites at 46 per cent.

I am not propounding that pre-marital sex is a sin but I believe this is a conservative topic and it shouldn’t be discussed openly. People should not opine publicly before media or elsewhere on the topics related to debauchery. In the name of sex education and sex awareness, media is creating an unnecessary hype rendering wrong impression and is indulged in publishing such articles heavily adding spice and sensuality to the news content. Young people get attracted and interested in reading such items, which increases sale of the newspaper.

In my opinion, sex awareness is not possible by making public the outcome of the surveys on pre-marital or extra-marital relations. It only stimulates curiosity among the adults, which in no way relieve their mental tension, but forces them to fall in such relationships and commit mistakes. Nineteen years is too early to get indulged in sex.

It is the time for shaping one’s career. It is a fact that hormonal changes in teenagers at the beginning of adolescence make them churlish by nature and develops the state of so-called mental tension but the way the leading dailies and health magazines creating sex awareness try to help them is doing no good. Because, the articles published do not broach the topic as learning but a fascinating thing and delve into the taboo area. The low quality porn magazines only appendage the problems in teens and create an ardent wrong impression on an adult’s mind.

Sex education should be provided at an age when adulthood begins, in schools as suggested by a Delhi schoolteacher. Parents should also not show indifference in conversing about sex related topics to their children. This is the most sought after age and adoptable way to create sex awareness. It eliminates the risk connected with gaining appalling, wrong information among the teenagers from elsewhere. They should be told about the health related problems generated by unsafe sex and it also be suggested by the teachers that one should not get involved in sexual relationships before seeking a good career and securing a better future. We should not imitate the western people in such acts, it only degrade our culture and moral values. Promiscuity can never be justified at any place in the world in any situation.

News dailies and journals should understand this fact that not a single guy gets benefited the way they are creating sex awareness by highlighting the average age of loosing virginity. Seeking morality, they should come out of profit mainspring and curb the trend of publishing unhealthy, non-realistic surveys and celebrity interviews.

A little percentage of young talent in India belong to the metros; due to overall advancement and increase in per person income they are forgetting Indian cultural values as indicated by the survey of Mumbai, but the rest of the talented people from small Indian cities should not be made to be frustrated by conducting the survey in big cities only and publishing the data. 18-25 years of age is the time of nurturing one’s career. An adult person should be acknowledged with every sort of information but should be able to discriminate between right and wrong and this can only be achieved by imparting sex education at the right age and in right way.

The meaning of freedom of women
NOW-A-DAYS, we generally listen that woman should be free. Various social groups and organization’s are working in this direction as their opinion is that women have a long period of slavery due to lack of education, burden of children etc and also due to various wars between different countries. If a man had been killed then his wife or his daughter had to suffer the slavery of the men of another country.

Now a day’s these types of wars are not so common so slavery produced by those types of wars has vanished almost, but slavery at the level of education is seen still now in our rural areas. There is a common opinion of old men and women that a girl should not be educated because they understand that after educating the girl’s they will get no more advantage as their daughter’s will go to another’s house.

Another disadvantage is that if a girl is educated then the boy should also be educated for marriage and to search such boy is not so easy, because due to dowry system. The demand of such boy’s is also high. So parent think that by educating the girl’s they will spend their money twice as much as uneducating the girl’s, so it is better to keep them uneducated. But the advantage of educating the girl is to provide a job or to equalize them with boy’s at the social level. If a woman is doing a job than it is possible to reduce the demand of dowry because if a girl has a job than almost all boy’s want to be married with her & not only boy’s but also their parents want to do so. So to educate girl is a way to reduce the torment of her parent and that of her. So the meaning of freedom of women is not to attract men but to reduce torment of women in the society so the real purpose of any organization which is struggling against the torment of women should be to educate and to provide job for them and to help the parent of girl’s for this and should not try to equalise the natural level of women and men because it is almost impossible by various type’s of speech’s and activities similar to man.

To speak about the goodness of women is a useless effort until it turn’s the social position of women and we all know that it is not possible only by such type of speeches so the meaning of struggle for freedom of women is to rise the social level of women.
