There are more than 100 nursing homes in the city, which need to be shifted out of residential areas as per the Supreme Court orders.

The apex court on May 4 asked the Noida authority to seal all the nursing homes functioning in residential areas. The court said that doctors could use a certain percentage of their residential premises for examining patients, but cannot treat them.

“The SC in its orders has asked the authority to come up with a plot scheme for nursing homes. Therefore, we will meet the new CEO to put forth our issues,” said HC Bisaria, a representative of doctors.

But the new CEO is not in a hurry in taking a final decision on the issue. “I will first have a meeting with concerned officials to know the issue thoroughly. Then I will be able to take a decision,” said Saran.

The authority will continue with its sealing drive against illegal activities in residential areas. “Our drive against the illegal activities will go on each Wednesday as per SC orders with same intensity,” said Rajesh Prakash, administrative officer, Noida authority.

On this Wednesday, sealing of illegal properties (other than nursing homes) will take place in Sector 34.
